Re-discovering Kpop - Stray Kids
Years ago when I was studying Japanese at university, I was a massive man of the Kpop group BigBang. I was lucky enough to see them in concert at the YG family concert in Japan during 2011, and had a collection of CD’s and merch. After moving back to Australia I sort of fell off following them. They entered their military service and weren’t very active for a long time (and then suffered some scandals) and I just never really got back into them. I do still occasionally google T.O.P just to see what he’s up to though, because as my first ever bias he has a special place in my heart.
Earlier this year however I went and stayed at a friends place, and they were watching the live-streamed Kobe concert of Stray Kids. Since it was on I decided to watch too, and I was completely blown away. I’ve completely fallen in love with their music, and them as people. Its so rare for me to find an artist where I like their ENTIRE discography, rather than just a few bangers here and there.
I have such eclectic taste in music that the diversity in Stray Kids’ music really scratches an itch in my brain. The more I learn about them the more impressed I am. They are all amazing singers, dancers and rappers, and they are a self producing group. In order to share my admiration of them with lots of other new fans, I made an infographic as a beginners guide to Stray Kids.
May it help you on your journey to learning about this amazingly talented group of performers and creators.
